We live in a world full of opinions.
Every day we're told what success looks like.
What should have our attention.
If we're not careful, we can slowly begin building our lives around things that were never meant to hold that kind of weight.
Joshua understood this.
As he stood before the people of Israel, he challenged them to decide who they would follow.
Then he made his own declaration:
"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." — Joshua 24:15
There is something powerful about a settled decision.
Joshua wasn't waiting to see what everyone else would do.
He wasn't taking a poll.
He wasn't following the culture around him.
His heart was already made up.
As for me.
Those four words still matter today.
Because every day we're choosing what will anchor our lives.
Our circumstances change.
People disappoint us.
Even our feelings can shift from one season to the next.
But God remains faithful.
The same yesterday.
The same today.
The same tomorrow.
When everything else feels uncertain, He is still steady.
And a life anchored in Him can withstand storms that would otherwise pull us away.
Prayer
Lord, help me build my life on what lasts. Strengthen my faith when distractions compete for my attention, and remind me daily that true peace is found in You alone. May my life reflect the same conviction Joshua carried: As for me, I will serve the Lord. Amen.
Live the Verse
Carry the reminder with you: Build your life on what lasts.
Anchored in Him and This Is My House are both rooted in Joshua 24:15. Two ways to carry the same steady truth.
